Overall a good sized washer that gets the job done. I couldn't understand though why it was getting uneven loads and moving across the floor. I was told to use the bulky items cycle for blankets and things like that and it did the trick. I vacillate between using the smart wash setting or not using them. It really just depends how much of a hurry I am in.

I upgraded from a 30 year old washer/dryer that was fantastic for the time but not as efficient and a tiny maximum load compared to this new GE. I™€™m able to wash and dry comforters that I previously had to take where due to size limits. During the first two weeks of ownership I™€™ve washed every fabric item in my home just because I can. Pillows, curtains, rugs, etc.. My previous unit couldn™€™t handle 6 towels. I can now wash 12 at a time with room for more. Love it.

This machine has a very large tub. It's good for a large family with huge loads but it's really a little too large for a single person. It's also very deep, so if you are a short person, like me, it's a bit difficult to get the laundry out of the washer. It works well for washing comforters & blankets. The dispenser always leaves some of the fabric softener in the slot & lots of water in the other slots whether I use them or not . I haven't figured out how to empty it yet so I dry it with washcloths & leave the lid open a few hours so it can dry. I've had HE washers before so I know it uses less water but this washer never uses enough water to cover all the clothes so I always have to remember to press the deep fill option 2 or 3 times to add more water. The glass lid makes it easy to see how much water is being used. I wish it had a cycle option to do an additional rinse & spin only. Sometimes the clothes don't rinse completely well & I end up rewashing the load using the Quick Wash cycle without soap. The clothes do come out clean & rinsed ok most of the time. The cycle finished sound is very low & I can't hear it from the next room or if the TV is on. I haven't figured out how to connect it to WiFi yet so I can't comment on how that works. Overall, although this washer works ok, it has options that I don't really need & doesn't do things I wish it did so I wouldn't buy this washer again, I'd choose a smaller washer with the features I need.

It's destroyed several pairs of clothes and sheets in the first month. The return policy is poor so we ended up buying a new front loader. It's washed the color out of clothes and it has not been drying the clothes well enough to go to the dryer. Not sure if we got a bad one or if the whole brand is junk. Ordered the new front loader, hopefully that one's better.

So far so good. I've had the washer less than a month. I love the size of the washer- large capacity. However, it is deep, may be hard for a shorter person to reach the bottom to get all of the clothes out. Something to get used to is the crazy noise when it's sensing the laundry load. I especially noticed it when I wash bulky blanket items. The rest of the time it's generally pretty quiet. The laundry room is off of our great room, and it is annoying not my husband that has previously been very aware of the washer noise when watching TV. I like app that reminds me when the wash cycle is done, although it think it's funny to get a reminder that clean wet laundry has been sitting for 30 minutes. I also like the app feature to download an option washer setting... Like activewear or quiet wash. So far it's been a good purchase.

The smart features are not helpful, but are great for GE learning how often you wash sheets. Compared to the old washer, this one does not have a buzzer to tell you when it is done™€¦you have to use the app™€¦which has lots of ads for detergent. The downloadable cycles are not really that useful or customizable. We wash almost everything cold, and could not easily build downloadable cycles to do this. The old washer was better.

Purchased Washer and Dryer from HD on 1/7/25. From the day we purchased, we've been disappointed. The hinge on the top lid broker 1st month and we patched with duct tape. Now, on nearly every load we have to "readjust" the laundry because the spin is always unbalanced. The drum violently hits the sides and then shuts down, causing us to readjust the small load inside, drain, then restart. We paid to have it looked at, only to find out THE PRODUCT IS WORKING AS ADVERTISED. NO REBALANCING REQUIRED ( NOTE: BOTH WASHER AND DRYER WERE PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED PROPERLY). Went back to HD to look at same washer to test if I had a defective drum, and realized the floor model was exactly the same. Not nearly as "tight" as the other vendors top loads.

This is the worst machine ever! Must use the "deep fill" every time as the "regular fill" doesn't even get all the clothes wet. And NOW even when I select "deep fill", it only deep fills during the wash cycle, but not the rinse cycle, so it tears up my clothes. I now have to "trick" the machine with 2 wash cycles...one of which has no soap added so it can be the rinse cycle. After 2 years, I can't wait till it breaks so I can get something else! Matching dryer sucks too, and takes FOREVER to get a load dry. These are the dumbest "smart" machines!

This is by far one of the worst washing machines I have ever purchased. I have owned the GE Profile front load machine in my previous home and wanted to purchase the same machine at my new home but due to space limitations I had to go with the top loader. Based on the reviews, availability, capacity and features I decided to purchase this model. The first issue we had started from day 1 - our lights throughout the home flicker/strobe when agitating the clothing. This continues throughout the entire wash process. I had 3 different electricians come out to check the electrical system in our brand new home (new construction) and none of the electricians found any issues. This included having the main line checked coming into our home. Finally the last electrician stated that he has seen this occur in the GE line of washers periodically. I went to GE to see what their suggestion was and was told it had to be the lights or the house electric causing our issue. The 2nd issue we had immediately was that the machine goes off balance almost every load no matter how large or small the load is. I am very aware that how you load the machine makes a difference but it seems that it does not matter one bit with this model. I also did not expect that the machine would "walk" out of place daily that requires me to continually have to rebalance the machine once I get it back into position. Also surprising is that the machine will make attempts to balance the load by refilling the drum with water but after a few attempts it will just give up and spin super lightly and the load with be super wet when complete. Third issue is that our clothing started to have a weird metallic smell after the load finished. We have only had this machine since August 2025 and use the Washing Machine cleaning tablets monthly to make sure the drum does not get build up of residue or mold. We leave the lid and dispenser open after every wash and we use a very small amount of HE detergent. The smell even remains in the washer even when we left for a long weekend and not had been used for 4 days. We have had to discard blankets and clothing due to the smell that lingers. I was then told it was possibly my water and we had a plumber and well/water softener specialist come to check/test our system. We even had our system sanitized multiple times to make sure there was no possiblity it was the water and that did not prevent the odor from presenting on our clothing. Our next issue was also from day 1 that the fill portion of the wash cycle, no matter what size load, type of load or strength of wash cycle chosen would not provide enough water to even cover the clothing. It required me stand at the machine and continually hit the DEEP FILL button to add the extra water to even wet the clothing enough to disperse the detergent. I have tried every possible combination of cycle, size and strength of wash to make this machine work correctly nothing has worked. I finally called the warranty dept and had a case open to get the machine looked at and Bodewell sent Herb the technician out who proceeded to Mansplain to us that we didnt know how to sort our laundry correctly, use/understand how this machine works, that our Brand new home had an electrical issue with the way the Neutral was installed in our home and never once ran the machine to check the issue. He connected his computer and told us that the machine had no error codes and it was working fine. He also proceeded to tell us that GE would absolutely not do anything to rectify our issue and that we should sell the machine/s on Facebook Marketplace and get front loaders as the top loaders are essentially garbage. Herbs other suggestion was to go to the store we purchase the machine and tell them that they would have to return or replace them to get a resolution. We had already done that and was told that due to the machine being under manufacturer warranty we would have the continue with the claim through GE. He left within 10 min of being there. This machine is supposed to be a Smart Machine with AI technology and it is by far the dumbest design, least efficient washer I have ever owned.

Worst Dispense Drawer

The flexdispense drawer is the worst. I™€™ve had the machine a few days now and the drawer is the worst feature. Rated it a 4 because everything else is fine so far and I like the addition of microban. I had the 2017 version of this machine and that drawer was better. Not sure how they moved backwards. Water inevitably gets left in the drawer after every load and you CANNOT REMOVE the drawer to dump that water. The 2017 one slid in and out easy, I could also clean behind it so I had no mildew or smelly issues. I feel I will definitely have that with this drawer because I can™€™t remove it to dump the water. I™€™ve pulled it out but it has these wheels in the back to help it move so I know that™€™s going to break if I keep taking it out. Mildew will definitely be a future problem. I™€™m not sure why it has a tide pod section in the drawer because tide pods cannot get wet before the laundry is started so it™€™s impossible to put a pod in the wet drawer. Wish they would have kept the easy slide in and out drawer.

Doesn™€™t cover clothes with water to wash. Doesn™€™t pull clothes down to wash. Leaves soap on clothes at times. Have to baby sit each cycle to adjust water. Seems to spin more than it does anything else.

I am not happy with the machine. You cannot put a lot of clothes the clothes get tangled and then you have to pause the machine because it start making a loud noise. I want to do that. That™€™s what is the problem because the machine is not going to last too long, then you have to pass the machine untangled the clothes. And restore the machine is very annoying not happy.
