Did not come with an egg container. Small blister in the paint left a small perfect circle of silver showing thru. Easy to move, ice cream is soft periodically. Ice maker works great. Some door shelves are way too narrow to hold anything. Periodic noise like the fan is hitting something.

Never buying GE again!

I will never buy another GE! My fridge's compressor took a crap December 24, 2025 and it took almost 4 weeks to get it fixed. I received a COMPLIMENTARY WARRANTY for a almost 4 yr old unit. Well here I am 6 months later and the compressor crapped out during the heat wave in OH right before the 4th. Called and was told my fridge is not under warranty and the compressor installed was a 30 DAY WARRANTY! I was offered another GE for less than 15% of a new one. So to say the least, in 4 days I spent $400+ on a fridge to get buy until I made it to a store to get a replacement.

Poor Installation of Protective Film and Parts

$2500 to have ugly blue and clear film showing around all the trim because there is no way to remove it without voiding the warranty. I guess that's the point. Also the back service panel is bent and not even installed correctly.

Great when it works

I really like the look and size of the refrigerator, and when it works all is good. I purchased this refrigerator in 2022, worked good for 2 years. In 2024 the freezer stopped working, refrigerant was added to the compressor, worked for several months, went out again. Long story short, I have had 4 claims for this, each fix lasting about 6 months and it is out again, making it 5 claims. The compressor has been replaced twice within 6 months, plus every thing possible changed out. My extended warranty expires next April, best $$ ever spent in my opinion, but when it does expire, I guess I will be purchasing a new refrigerator, but not a GE.

Unreliable, constant issues

Has been the worst purchase! One month after my purchase at Best Buy, the freezer and fridge stopped cooling, GE came out and installed a process valve. Worked well for few months then freezer would suddenly thaw out completely. In the two years since I™€™ve had it, I™€™ve had at least 6-8 tech visits. Last August the compressor got replaced ( the tech guessed it may be the problem). The warranty has now expired. I purchased the extended warranty I figured I would continue having problems with it. And sure enough since last August, the freezer has thawed out completely at least two dozen times. I don™€™t always schedule a tech visit since I know they can™€™t figure out the problem. I have just learned to deal with a nonworking freezer. Two weeks ago I did call them. They came out. They replaced the motherboard, guessing this may be the problem. One week later the freezer thawed out again. The tech that came out last week said it may be the compressor He ordered the parts meanwhile this weekend on 2/28 the fridge stopped cooling. I went to buy a thermometer and the temp read 60 degrees in the fridge. After a full day of it not cooling I emptied it completely out. Yesterday i decided to unplug it for fear of it overheating. I texted the tech that last came out but he did not reply. I called customer relations last year but they didn™€™t offer any help. All my friends and family laugh and call my purchase a lemon! I agree. Looks great but I should gone with a more reliable brand!

ELDERLY ABUSE GOING ON A WEEK WITH NO REFRIGERATOR

The fruit and vegetable drawers are small, and there is neither a meat drawer nor a place for eggs. The large drawer may occasionally be nice, but as it is, one must open both doors and let more cold air out to open it. There could be more flexibility on shelf vertical placement. After a few weeks, I am still finding bits of the plastic wrapping to remove™€"it is incredibly difficult to remove, even the delivery guy was having trouble. I understand the need to protect the finish, but look over the process™€"it is horrible for the buyer. It is very quiet and looks good. Documentation is woefully lacking, even online. Provide a manual specific for each model, GE!

Film tough to remove

The green sticky protective film goes under the plastic trim and seems to be impossible to get all of it off. Otherwise, install was good! I wish a booklet came with the fridge because I am old school and like to sit and read, not have to download to a computer.

Even though the new unit is 5 or 6 cubic feet smaller, we were still able to fit almost everything that was in the old one. Plus, this new one fits flush with our counter tops... the old one was way too big for our kitchen. We couldn't be more pleased.

A little tough start, but we'll see ...

Just installed the Model GYE22GENKDS. Pretty much as expected, though still working through some small issues. The green plastic protective film doesn't completely come off. Having a hard time getting it out of the crevices. Two of the circle stickers on the shelves left adhesive on the glass. The white sticker on the freezer handle is not coming off easily. There are white particles on the inside left-hand door. Not sure what they are. The strapping tape at the back on top of the bins is very hard to pull off and leaves adhesive. I put the freezer on turbo freeze, but the freezer hasn't cooled off in the last two hours. The front control pad has no backlighting, so it is really hard to see the areas to touch for water/crushed/cube control and the fridge and freezer controls. The top bin on the left side door scrapes the right side door when closing. The refrigerator top side quickly came to temperature. The fridge is nice and quiet. No ice yet.

Door trays

So far there are only 2 things I don't like. First, the blue wrapping is too tight in the edges to get it all off/out. Second, one of the trays attached to the ice door (inside left door) sticks out too far. I have to open the right door before I can open the left door, otherwise it scratches the inside of the right door.

Looks Great, but didn't work!!

This was promised on a date and then back ordered 2 times. Finally got delivery yesterday. Frig started to chill, but freezer didn't get cold. Called GE Tech and she told me it was broke. Would send out repair on Wednesday. This was yesterday...Friday!!! Asked her spoiled frozen food. She said file a claim on Monday. Called Home Depot and the girl in service really helped!! Told me to turn down Frig and wait till morning. She would send service on Monday, They would set up time today...No one called!!!!!!!

So far operating well Like the color. Black Slate Quiet One con. If the left door is closed last, the clear plastic tray scraps the inside of the right door leaving a mark. Need to close the left door first

The delivery people were friendly and worked consistently while here. We purchased the same unit in AZ a couple years ago. It performed well except for a minor drip after using the water.

Disappointed Loyal GE Customer

Well, it took 3 deliveries over 9 weeks (from original order) to get 1 Refrigerator without workmanship issues, thus my rating. GE customer service offered no consideration given we were without a Refrigerator. What we have now does look nice and is functional. I will mention that the digital display set point for the refrigerator appears to be off by several degrees (when set at 37 degrees F), and it takes a while to recover the set temperature if you open the doors even for a short time. This may be the design. (Note: I checked and monitored it with a calibrated thermometer and thermocouple.)

Bad ice maker control options design.

It wouldn™€™t have cost much to illuminate the touch pad options for the ice dispenser on the door. Almost impossible to if it™€™s a little dark in the room. My GE fridge at our old house was the best designed refrigerator I™€™ve ever owned. Hard to believe GE could have overlooked this.

nice look outside but inside shelves and bins are not deep enough. My last counter-depth fridg held more. I think they made the door bins too big and thus the inside shelves and bins are shallow. Also, have already had trouble with the door not closing once. It was very frustrating!
